This week I have been thinking about time. I put that out and Deepak had a meditation series and addresses time. I am spending most of my time writing a new guide called MindPowerment. I felt a rush to get this project finished before the holidays. Did you notice all of the “I’s” here? Yes, It’s me. Is there someone demanding this? Only myself. I found myself waking up and writing lists in my head before my feet hit the ground out of my bed. I put off meditating until later in the morning. What? The queen of mindfulness? That is so not like me. Who is the Master of my time?

According to Deepak, the world is facing an epidemic called “TIME SICKNESS”. Keep this in mind if you have extra sick days!

Check out the symptoms:

  • Heavy feelings that there is NOT enough time in the day to accomplish what you have before you on your endless list.
  • Feeling of racing against time, constantly looking at your watch and racing against it.
  • A sick feeling in the pit of your stomach when something suddenly disrupts your schedule. Your child is sick, you have car issues, your computer is not working, a parent is rushed to the hospital. You are empathetic yet, you know this is going to throw your entire schedule off.
  • A feeling of high when you accomplish everything on your list. Everything is checked off!

Eliminating Time Sickness from your life takes a commitment of living in your present. Slowing down and admitting this just does not work for you. Knowing that is has nothing to do with time management, but rather a state of mind. We allow time to throw our mind and body out of balance. I totally did that this week. I allowed time to rule my life.

Sitting in stillness of the moment. Meditation is the prescription here. A shift occurs. No matter how frustrating the moment, it DOES NOT bother you! There is no disruption. You are responsive versus reactive. You enjoy the moment. You are not wishing for more, just enjoying the now. When you are the Master of time, your body and mind are aligned and you flow!
